Ash is like the fussiest child in the entire world...so we don't have a lot that she will eat....usually she will get:

vegemite sandwich on white bread no margarine (how yuk does that sound??)
a big bottle of water
banana yoghurt (it's the only flavour she will eat and very hard to find)
homemade cheese sticks (she hates the shop ones)

sometimes I will buy her a pack of cheese and cracker dips but she usually decides she hates them before the pack is even finished.

Tyson is fussy too. I pack him a Vegemite sandwich or maybe sometimes jam, a banana, some cheese, bottle of water and a muesli bar.
Here's the thing. He will only eat the muesli bar if its got chocolate on it and her almost never touches the banana but it makes me feel better to know Ive put something healthy in his lunch box. Don't want Day Care to think I'm a bad mum. LOL.
Maybe he will eat 2 little sticks of cheese if Im lucky. He does usually eat his sandwich or at least part of it. Id like to pack him a healthier sandwich but I know if he finds the lightest tinge of green in there he will just turf it.
So jam will have to do because I don't want him to go hungry.
So I know how you feel Vic.

Lily is a fussy eater at home, and sounds a lot like Ash and Tyson. Here she will take the teeniest bite of something and then tell me it's "poo" and that she doesnt like it.
At daycare she eats anything and everything they give her, sometimes she even has seconds!

I have decided (as mean as it sounds, and as hard as it is to do), that if she's not going to eat what I give her for dinner then she's going to have to go hungry. I truly think that she is only playing up at home because she knows that we will give her something else to eat.

lol.....I had to laugh at the "poo" Tamara, and I have to say that your "mean mum" method will probably work, so go girl!. I know Ash is so fussy because I have indulged it by giving in to her whims, I was always so terrified of her starving, also when she was smaller she would make herself vomit if I made her eat things that she didn't like.....it was soooo stressful that in the end I decided as long as she eats I won't freak out so much!....lol....and I know about the sandwiches Shell, I tried to sneak margarine on a few times and they came home still in her lunch box, when asked why, she told me she is not stupid and she noticed that I put marg on.....lol

I am actually going to try a book that I have ordered called deceptively delicious....its got a whole bunch of really yummy recipes that all have pureed vegies in them, like chocolate cake and stuff, aparently kids love the stuff and it is good for them too!

No packing lunches here just yet! So lucky for me! The sitter does lunches for us and she gets them to eat much more than I do as well! HA!!! Not sure what we'll do next year when we do have to pack them though!

My girls buy more now than they used to. We packed ravoli, spaghetti o's, sometimes hot dogs, chicken noodle soup etc. We tried to make it be a hot lunch.

Lol, looks like I'm not the only one with fussy eaters then! Jack doesnt like bread so it's really hard to make his lunch. Usually crackers, with kabana, or little frankies (the little skinless cherios), yoghurt and some biscuits. Sounds terrible I know. If strawberries are in season he has those too, or watermelon, because they are the only fruits he eats. Em is a bit easier. She always has a sandwich, at the moment she is wanting jam sandwiches every day. Before that is was peanut butter. For a couple of months it was fairy bread. (she got that idea when she saw about 3 other kids in her class with sprinkles sandwiches) She likes fruit too, and yoghurt and crackers. Sometimes when I'm at school at lunchtime and see what the other kids are eating I feel a bit guilty. Huge salad sandwiches, tins of tuna, salad...how do their mums get them to eat that stuff!
